Anna Gurton-Wachter is a writer and archivist. Her first full length book, Utopia Pipe Dream Memory, is available from Ugly Duckling Presse. Another poetry collection, Empire K Hole, is forthcoming from Nightboat Books in 2028. Anna is the author of eight chapbooks with other work appearing in The Brooklyn Rail, Social Text, Hot Pink, The Recluse, 6x6 and elsewhere. Anna edited and made books with DoubleCross Press, from 2014-2024. DoubleCross is a poetry micro-press publishing handmade letterpress chapbooks. She has been a co-curator of the Segue Reading Series and is currently plotting a new reading series called "don't give up on me" at Young Ethel's in Brooklyn.
Anna works full time as the archivist for The Keith Haring Foundation and part time as a reference librarian for NYU. She has visited classes to speak about writing, art, and archives at Hunter, SVA, Cooper Union, Hostos, The New School, Philadelphia University of the Arts and LaGuardia Community College.
